Have you ever heard the term, Dont drink the Kool-Aid? or You have drank the Kool-Aid.? Well, Drinking the Kool-Aid convey you have done something that others have told you to do or did yourself. This saying comes from the cult society led by Reverend Jim Jones, named Jonestown. Jonestown was a small community in the jungle of Guyana, reciprocal ohm America. After getting word of people coming to investigate the society, Jones had committed a mass suicide by poisoning Kool-Aid and adult it to the people of Jonestown. A cult society is an organization that basically disguises itself as a religion. In a cult, they normally perform rituals. There are normally many people in these societies. In Jim Joness cult, there were at least one thousand people in this community. Jim Jones was the notorious cult drawing card of the Peoples Temple. Jones was born on May 13, 1931 in Crete, Indiana. He was a self-appointed pastor from a church in the Midwest. Jim had been popular for always weari ng aphotic glasses, black suits and slicked-back hair, which made a splendid impression on the pulpit of the churches he had preached at or had been to. He then, in the mid-1960s, travel his congregation to atomic number 20 to, what he had wished, avoid the start of a nuclear war. Then, in 1974, he moved his people to Guyana after he was faced with financial abuses, criticism, and church beatings.Guyana, South America is South Americas monarch. Being me, I feel interchangeable the way Jim Jones treated these people, and the way he led this cult compound was completely wrong. I feel like Peoples Temple was a humungous mistake. I also feel truly sorry for those who lose friends and family in this horrible event and for those who went through this. I think that its a tragedy to cypher that many collegiate athletes are involved in looseness situations. Its hard on the athletes too, because theyre not getting paid to play the secret plan so its hard to resist thousands of dollars to only win by a few, in cases on point grazing. When I was watching that movie relentless Chips, which is all about illegal college betting and buying athletes to come to their school, there was a scene involving the coach and the point guard regarding a point shaving incident three years ago. After the student was harassed by the coach he finally confessed saying, We won the game, we just didnt beat the spread. Thats only for those gamblers anyway. He has a point with what he said just now thats not the point. A lot of young athletes do run through point shaving as partaking in an illegal and unlawful event or dont believe that much in it, morally.So race say that if the college players were getting paid none of this would happen. I dont know i f giving the players a stipend is going end this because unless youre stipendiary the athletes thousands of dollars a week or a game, the stipend wont be more than what theyre being offered. I do think that it power help but Im not sure if that help is going to make a big enough difference. On the same note, if you uproot spreads, can they be sure that it will make a difference when it comes to gambling. Dont get me wrong, eliminating the spreads would decrease the amounts of point shaving incidents, but it wont necessarily stop them. Bookies can make up their own spreads and ask players to shave points regardless of the fact that the spread is not publicized. The bookie has an image by about how much one team may beat another. I understand that they will probably never eliminate collegiate gambling but theyre trying to limit and reduce it and Im all for it too.Unfortunately there is the big issue of the politicians and their campaigning for funds and its going to be hard to cont rol that too. I can understand why Congress isnt closing the Nevada loophole or at least delaying it, but I still dont agree with it.
